Seth Shostak is the Senior Astronomer for SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence). Here he traces the history of SETI, from its humble origins up to its expanded role today. While SETI founder Dr. Frank Drake predicts that we will discover intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe within ten years, Shostak pushes the timeframe out farther to the year 2025 and explains why. He also gives us an update on the new Allen Array radio telescope being built in Northern California that will vastly expand SETI's ability to find signals from an alien civilization when completed.
