Nick Redfern Trails The Cardiff Giant

Posted on March 10th, 2010 by nickredfern in News

Just recently, I was speaking about all-things cryptozoological at the Ghosts of Cooperstown, NY gig.
Imagine my surprise, then, when I learned that just up the road from the hotel where the event was being held is the Farmer’s Museum; which is home to the (very!) infamous Cardiff Giant.
The definitively fortean caper of the Cardiff Giant is a truly strange and convoluted one filled with all manner of entertaining twists and turns. If you don’t know the story of the giant-man (or, rather, the giant-hoax), click here for all the weird details.
The photo that accompanies this post was taken by me at around 11.00 PM on the second night of the gig when the temperature had plummeted to what felt like previously unrecorded levels – both inside and out!!

Nick Redfern Reviews “The Cryptoterrestrials”

Posted on March 10th, 2010 by nickredfern in News

Over the course of the last 60 years or so, the world of Ufology has spawned a truly huge number of books: many very good indeed, a not-insignificant number very bad, and a great deal hovering precariously somewhere in between. Just occasionally, however, a title comes along that is truly revolutionary, ground-breaking and – as far as its potential implications are concerned – thought-provoking in the extreme.

For me, personally, Jacque Vallee’s Messengers of Deception and John Keel’s UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse both fall into that latter category. Albeit in admittedly different ways, Vallee and Keel made equally strong cases for the existence of genuine UFOs in our midst. But, both Messengers and Trojan delivered to the reader two far more explicit messages: (A) UFOs are real; but that doesn’t mean they are necessarily extraterrestrial; and (B) the phenomenon is clearly deceptive and manipulative in nature and intent.

Of course, for many of the longstanding (a.k.a. the bloody old) players within Ufology, any talk of deceptive messengers, or of Keel’s super-spectrum, is dismissed as mere speculation and not much else. For them, UFOs have to be extraterrestrial. After all, they have upheld such notions and beliefs for decades; and to relegate them to the rubbish-bin is not an option.

Well, I have a few choice words for those people who are so rigidly set in their ways: the extraterrestrial hypothesis is itself entirely speculative and totally lacking in hard evidence. All we really know for certain is that there most assuredly is a genuine UFO phenomenon. But, as for definitive proof of its actual point of origin or origins? Please! There is none. At all. There is merely a lot of data clearly demonstrating the presence of unidentified “others” amongst us.

Vallee and Keel most assuredly and astutely recognized this. They understood that a puzzle which – at first glance – seemed to be defined by the presence of nuts-and-bolts spacecraft and flesh-and-blood aliens in our midst, was far, far stranger than many within Ufology wanted to admit.

And there was someone else who also recognized this ufological factor: Mac Tonnies. Mac was a very good friend of mine; and like all his friends I was shocked to the core when he passed away suddenly and tragically in October 2009, at the age of only 34.

But, I am pleased to say, Mac’s latest – and, inevitably, final – piece of work ensures that his memory, legacy and ability to think outside of the conventional ufological box will live on. That work is The Cryptoterrestrials: A Meditation on Indigenous Humanoids and the Aliens Among Us.

Like Vallee and Keel, Mac rightly recognized that UFO encounters could not be dismissed as the ravings of lunatics, the tales of the fantasy-prone, or the lies of those seeking fame and fortune. But, he was also careful not to get sucked into the near-viral mindset that practically screams (take a deep breath): UFOs = alien spaceships piloted by little gray chaps from across the galaxy, who are on a mission to save their dying race by stealing our DNA, eggs and sperm.

Rather, Mac – right up until the time of his death – was chasing down the theory suggesting that the UFOnauts may actually represent the last vestiges of a very ancient race of distinctly terrestrial origins; a race that – tens of thousands of years ago may have ruled our planet, but whose position of power was thrown into overwhelming chaos by two things: (A) the appearance of a “debilitating genetic syndrome” that ravaged their society; and (B) the rising infestation of a violent species that threatened to eclipse – in number – their own society.

They are the Cryptoterrestrials. And that violent species that blusters around like an insane, unruly and spoiled child, and that has done more damage in its short life-time than can ever be truly imagined, is, of course, us.

With their society waning, their health and ability to even successfully reproduce collapsing, and their absolute worst nightmare – the Human Race – becoming the new gang in town, the Cryptoterrestrials followed what was perceived as the only viable option: they quietly retreated into the shadows, into the darkened corners of our world, below the oceans, into the deeper caverns that pepper the planet, and in their own uniquely silent and detached way, set about a new course of action.

That course of action – given that they were in some fashion genetically related to the Human Race – was to eventually resurface; to move amongst us in stealth; to pass themselves off as entities from far-off worlds (as part of a concerted effort to protect and hide their real point of origin); and to use and exploit us – medically – in an attempt to try and inject their waning species with a considerable amount of new blood: ours.

In addition, Mac believed, the Cryptoterrestrials were – and, by definition, still are – subtle-yet-brilliant, cosmic magicians. For them, however, there is no top-hat from which a white-rabbit is pulled. There is no hot babe sliced in half and then miraculously rejoined at the waist. No: their tricks are far more fantastic. As well as deceiving us about their origins, the Cryptoterrestrials have – via, perhaps, the use of advanced hologram-style technology, mind-manipulation and much more – led us to conclude that they have an infinite number of craft, resources and technologies at their disposal.

And that is the trick, the ruse: in actuality, their numbers today may be very small. They may well be staging faked UFO events to try and convince us that they have a veritable armada at their disposal when, perhaps, the exact opposite is the case. And, most important of all, they desperately want us to think of them as visitors from the stars. If their plan to rejuvenate their species is to work, then stealth, subterfuge and camouflage are the essential orders of the day.

Of course, the above all amounts to a theory – just like the ETH. And, Mac’s book makes it very clear that he is theorizing, rather than being able to provide the reader with definitive proof for such a scenario. He does, however, offer a logical, and at times powerful, argument in support of the theme of his book.

As for so-called “alien abductions”: the clumsy, intrusive means by which ova and sperm are taken by a race of beings we are led to believe are countless years ahead of us is addressed. That the ability of the aliens to wipe out the memories of those they abduct is constantly and regularly overturned by nothing more than simple hypnosis is highlighted. And the unlikely scenario that our DNA would even be compatible, in the first place, with extraterrestrial entities is also firmly dissected. Mac’s conclusion: all this points not to the presence of highly-advanced aliens who are thousands of years ahead of us; but to the actions of an ancient Earth-based society whose technology may not be more than a century or so in advance of our current knowledge.

Mac also noted how the “aliens” seem to spend a hell of a lot time ensuring they are seen: whether its taking “soil-samples” at the side of the road; equipping their craft with bright, flashing lights; or hammering home the point to the abductees that they are from this planet, from that star-system, or from some far off galaxy. Just about anywhere aside from right here, in fact.

Roswell comes into the equation, too: and in ingenious fashion. Those who do not adhere to the extraterrestrial hypothesis for Roswell point to the fact that many of the witness descriptions of what was found at Roswell, are collectively suggestive of some form of large balloon-type structure having come down at the Foster Ranch, Lincoln County, NM on that fateful day in the summer of 1947.

The possibility that ET would be flying around New Mexico in a balloon is absurd. But, as Mac notes, a race of impoverished, underground-dwellers, highly worried by the sudden influx of military activity in New Mexico (White Sands, Los Alamos etc), just might employ the use of an advance balloon-type vehicle to secretly scope out the area late at night.

Perhaps, when elements of the U.S. military came across the debris, they really did assume it was balloon-borne material and probably of American origin. Until, maybe, they stumbled across something else amid the debris, too…

The Cryptoterrestrials continues in a similar vein; to the extent that we are left with a stark and surreal image of a very ancient – and very strange – race of beings who may once have been the masters of this planet; who were sidelined thousands of years ago; and who are now – under cover of darkness and while the cities sleep – forced to grudgingly surface from their darkened lairs and interact with the very things they fear (and perhaps even hate and despise) most of all: us.

Survival is the name of their game. And deception is the means by which it is being cunningly achieved.

Whether you agree with Mac’s theorizing or not, The Cryptoterrestrials is a book that is expertly and beautifully written. It challenges the reader to throw out old, rigid views. It represents the careful studies of a man who knew he was going out on a limb – but who, thankfully, didn’t give a damn about appeasing the UFO research community in fawning style. And, for me, it truly is a Messengers of Deception for the 21st Century and for Generation-Next.

If you are into Spirit Communications You’re Gonna Love This:The P-SB7 Frequency Sweep Radio from DAS

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by rickmoran in News

Several years ago, in what now seems like a whole different world, I sat with a long -time friend and waxed poetic about the possibilities of real time spirit communications in the modern era. At that point Frank Sumption had about four of his hand made boxes in the field and word was filtering down about what users were hearing. Back then, getting a box was almost impossible, but the promise of being able to talk with the departed was tantalizing.

As time passed several box owners were releasing taped sessions and one was traveling the country and charging a considerable fee for private sessions with the device. While the recorded sessions seemed appealing, I began to wonder just how much it could cost to build a similar device.  I am an Amateur Radio Operator (HAM) and I had seen Frank’s original schematics, so I went back to my friend, who was another ham and electronics engineer to put the question to him.  At first he was totally turned off by the proposal, but after a little cajoling, he agreed to give it a shot.  What came forth was the MiniBox, which was smaller and built from state of the art components. A few months later my friend was in the Spirit Communications business and my organization, the Association for the Study of Unexplained Phenomenon, (ASUP, Inc.) was travelling about testing the device with random groups.

Well, that was then and my primary objective, to see a Spirit Communications device that would be affordable for anyone who was interested, had been lost in the frenzy for custom made boxes with an equally high price tag.  Our testing showed that the device worked, but it still was not in the hands of the people who really could test it, the field investigators who live on limited budgets but handle most of the work in our field.

Almost two years after the start of my Odyssey, after field testing a half dozen devices that claimed to work as well as Frank’s Box, I had a chance encounter with Gary Galka, the inventor of the Mel Meter and a man I consider the new Gizmo-maker extraordinaire to the Paranormal field. I shared my vision with him, and gave him a long “white paper” that outlined the history of ITC Research, from the beginning up to the Radio Shack HACK.  It got his interest and he began talking to other researchers about what they really wanted in such a device.

Gary is an interesting guy! He doesn’t think quite the way other folks in our field do, maybe because he entered the field from a totally unique prospective.  Gary had lost his daughter several years ago and was interested in any way to communicate with her, not like a lot of people I have talked to while doing my Spirit Communications research. But Gary is an electronics guru; he makes his living building and marketing high tech testing gear to a number of varied fields. He understood the need for every product to be well made and aimed at the specific needs of the target audience.  He also understood that Spirit Communications was a very sensitive subject.  After a lot of talking and research, Gary announced to me that he had a prototype and had created it based solely on what he had learned from the investigators he had polled.  The initial tests of the prototype were done by paranormalist Chris Fleming last October in front of a network television audience.  After some minor tweaking, the final design went into production in January 2010.

So, what is this miraculous piece of apparatus? The device is called the P-SB7, ITC Research Device. When used by a properly trained individual, under certain circumstances, the P-SB7 will provide results similar that of an EVP recorder, but in real time. The P-SB7 utilizes a milli-second adjustable Forward or Reverse frequency “sweep” technique coupled with a proprietary high frequency synthetic noise or “white noise” distributed between frequency steps, both in the AM and FM radio band. There are two discreet audio outputs; Earphone and Speaker and a bright EL back light display with manual ON/OFF select is ideal for viewing in the dark. The P-SB7 has an internal recharge circuit that maintains power to three “AAA” rechargeable batteries and is intended to be used by professional investigators to help promote the field of Paranormal ITC Research.

The unit is unbelievably small, the size of an MP-3 Player and can be carried in a shirt pocket; when using the optional stereo speakers from the Deluxe package, the device has better audio output than any “spirit box” I have used, with crisp sound but the addition of “white noise” between the frequency steps makes the device seem much smoother and noise free. Using the P-SB7 with an earphone allows the researcher to utilize the device while doing other chores at a scene, so it would be possible to hear instant feedback from the area in real time, something like doing EVP work without the delay in playback.

Investigators who are dedicated to this kind of research, are as a whole very demanding. While size is important, the ability to capture the illusive messages they seek is of paramount importance.  When the device first came to the ASUP office, I set it up using the amplified speakers and randomly set the wheel in motion.  To my surprise, without any fussing with the controls, I soon heard a familiar voice coming from the device.  For all the years that I have been watching the growth of this portion of our research, I have always been aware that whenever anyone was using any “box” in my presence, the device would eventually call me by name.  This has happened in front of a large group in an auditorium, in classrooms, labs and homes.  I do not solicit that response, no one mentions my presence, but inevitably all the boxes eventually begin to call me by name.  I try to ignore them, but at one testing session several years ago, I answered the device, saying, “What do you want?”  The box immediately replies in the same voice, “Hello!” The P-SB7 is no different, after running less than five minutes, without any prompting, that familiar voice said clearly, “Rick?”

While testing the P-SB7 in a field situation, the unit performed admirably, again “saying” things that were relevant and in context to the investigation. We did notice that the device, like most others, work better with one operator asking questions and with a limited number of participants.  In our normal field work, we limit the inside team to six investigators working in pairs, which did not seem to be a problem.

When dealing with any “Spirit Box” the discussion will always turn to the two inevitable questions; how does it work and isn’t the voices being heard simply artifact that the listener interprets as a message?  For years detractors have argues that what was being reported as voice messages are simply matrixing, thus matrixing was an early concern for our testing of all the previous devices.  For those who do not understand the term, allow me a moment to elaborate.  Matrixing is when the human ear hears bits of sounds and the brain attempts to interpret them as a whole.  The best example of this was covered in depth on PBS radio several years ago.  A college linguistics professor was working with some basic Mandarin dialogue tapes.  She left her office for a moment to go into the next room to prepare a cup of tea and while there, she heard someone singing. On closer inspection she found that she had left an audio tape looped in her computer for analysis. From a distance she was hearing only bits of the selection, but her brain was interpreting those sounds as song.

Mandarin is of course a language that is very lyrical to begin with, so it is relatively easy to think you are hearing a song from a distance.  To further test this hypothesis, the professor began to play the loop in public places and an astounding number of people asked her where she had found this beautiful song.  This is the epitome of matrixing, they were hearing human speech but their brains almost always interpreted it as music.

The argument that the original “box” was simply grabbing bits and pieces that some would interpret as words was offered as an explanation for the phenomenon, but later designs added a sweep timing circuit that would change the rate of play, yet it was still called matrixing by detractors. The ASUP spent a good deal of time addressing these concerns and found that the later devices tested by trained investigators were simply not misinterpretations or matrixing.  Too many questions were answered in kind and context to be able to point to misinterpretation of sounds, especially when technical jargon is used and the ability to pull whole words from random reversed bits of the broadcast band stretched the bounds of credibility in that argument.

So, if not matrixing, how does the device work and who are we hearing.  The first consideration is that there is no “transmitter” involved in any of these devices, there is no microphone, so whoever is answering, they can hear us without any manipulation, amplification or transmission of our voices.  The device is a rather sophisticated radio, in the case of the P-SB7 one that can utilize both AM and FM, as the user wishes, both work well in our initial tests.  After the initial set-up, the operator will set the sweep rate to his or her liking, even monitoring the sweep in reverse if they so choose. It does not take long for a message to be heard, in hundreds of test subjects over the last few years, I have encountered only three people who reported hearing nothing in a test session!

As to who we might be conversing with, that is yet another question and the suggested answers run the gamut from extraterrestrials to ghosts, time travellers and those from another dimension, not to mention a host of thought about remote mind talking!  As a researcher, I will have to withhold comment on both of those questions and say we simply do not know conclusively at this time, but that something seems to be communicating through the device.  What is important to note is that the world of ITC (instrumental trans-communications) has been with us for some time, harkening back to the days of the first Marconi radio sets.

Shortly before his death in 1971, General David Sarnoff, former President of RCA and NBC, an icon of American telecommunications told friends and colleagues that while a young man working as a wireless operator for the Marconi Radio company, he often heard “voices” over his monitoring device.  Sarnoff was the first Marconi operator to hear the S.O.S. calls from the ill-fated Titanic in 1912, so there is no reason to doubt the claims, even though the Marconi receivers lacked the technical ability to modulate voice.

The real breakthrough in spirit communications came in 1971 when Paul Jones, G.W. Meek and Hans Heckman began serious research into two way communications with the departed. That study continued through the 70s until Meek introduced psychic William O’Neill to the mix and with him a departed spirit, Dr. George Jeffries Mueller, who had died several years earlier.  Mueller, a former Cornell professor and NASA collaborator suggested enhancements to the group’s receiver, and a 13 tone speech generator was added to a frequency generator to create a human voice.  By 1980 SpiriCom, as it would be called, was at its height and journalist and researcher D. Scott Rogo began his study of the phenomenon, which culminated in a book, Telephone Calls from the Dead.

Through the 1980s and 90’s SpiriCom and ITC flourished and new advances were made, including the use of television and computers. Researcher and author Mark Macy was instrumental in creating joint projects between experimenters in America and Europe, culminating in a new group the INIT who had even more spectacular results, most of which flew under the international media’s radar, so to speak. While all of this was happening, most of the paranormal community was blissfully unaware of its presence in general; with only basic EVP experiments garnered any real coverage.

Little more was heard outside the true ITC researchers until Frank Sumption, a ham radio operator from Colorado, introduced his hand made “box” which admittedly was built with discarded components from radios and TV sets.  Frank’s original purpose was to listen for extraterrestrials, but in no time the idea that the box was communicating with the departed took center stage.  Since then there have been a host of similar devices, but none as compact and sophisticated as DAS Distribution’s P-SB7 and certainly not at this price.  While similar but larger devices sell for over $500 in many cases, the P-SB7 is a steal at $119.50; the device’s designer, Gary Galka has kept his promise to put quality instrumentation into the hands of investigators at a price they can afford.  If you have ever toyed with the idea of expanding your toolkit to include a “spirit box” this is the time and the P-SB7 is the unit.

New Zealand’s UFO Sighting – Military Reports Released

Posted on February 2nd, 2010 by webmaster in News

New Zealand UFO Sighting Military Reports RevealedOn January 23, 2010, New Zealand-based news reports stated “The military is all set to release hundreds of pages of secret documentation on UFO sightings across New Zealand.  The papers will be released during this year itself. After nearly 30 years of concealing the facts,  previously classified details of UFO and extraterrestrial-related files. will be available for scrutiny.

Suzanne Hanson of New Zealand’s UFO Research, Support and Resource Network states “UFOCUS NZ’s own archives contain credible and detailed UFO sighting reports from New Zealand pilots, air traffic controllers, and military personnel.  In addition, the research network holds sighting reports from members of the public who experienced significant UFO sightings dating as far back as 1908.  Some of these prominent cases were investigated by NZ Air Force personnel, and she is hopeful the MOD files may contain their reports.

Ms. Hanson reports “It is likely the files will also contain additional information about the renowned ‘Kaikoura lights’ sightings which made world headlines in 1978/79.”

UFOCUS NZ staff member and former Chief air traffic controller of Wellington International Airport, John Cordy, witnessed the Kaikoura lights on airport control centre radar, and states, “I hope the files will validate the reality of the sightings, and vindicate key witnesses who observed them, and faced ‘trial by media’.”

Stay tuned for more information, as the facts reveal themselves.

Evidence of the Afterlife – The Science of Near Death Experiences

Posted on January 31st, 2010 by webmaster in Book Reviews, News

Fate magazine has been reporting on the evidence of the afterlife since 1948!

Evidence of the Afterlife - Dr. Jeffrey Long, Jody Long, and Paul Perry

Evidence of the Afterlife - Dr. Jeffrey Long, Jody Long, and Paul Perry

Evidence of the Afterlife: The Science of Near-Death Experiencesby M.D. Jeffrey Long, was an instant best seller - having researched some 1,300 near-death experiences, Long present compelling proof ot the afterlife. His book is considered the largest research project on Near Death Experiences (NDEs) with over 1,300 NDEs researched by the Near Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF).

Crossing boundaries of age, gender, culture and time, Long says that the similarities recounted by near-death survivors are too similar to be chalked up to mere romantic, imagined, or cultured experiences, projected as defense mechanisms or the swansong of a dying brain.

Arguing that the accounts of young children hold the key to overcoming skeptical notions of ingrained cultural descriptions of what heaven “should be,” Long states that children age five and under hold true to explaining a world beyond that hasn’t yet been spoiled by the conventional wisdom of their cultures of origin.

In the September 2007 issue of FATE magazine, Brad and Sherry Steiger wrote Children and the Near-Death Experience

Here is an excerpt: While few adults would claim to have memories stretching back beyond four or five years of age, a number of respondents to our Steiger Questionnaire of Mystical, Paranormal, and UFO Experiences say that they are able to recall dramatic near-death experiences (NDEs) that they experienced as young as two or three. Because both of us had near-death experiences as children, we have taken a personal interest in such reports of childhood NDEs. Of the approximately 36,000 individuals who have responded to our questionnaire since 1968, 69 percent state that they underwent a near-death experience—82 percent of that number had an NDE before the age of 12. Official UFO Night in Brazil

Posted on January 4th, 2010 by webmaster in News

UFO Witness Paintings of Sightings in Brazil in the 60s and 70s

UFO Witness Paintings of Sightings in Brazil in the 60s and 70s

The Brazilian Government has just declassified a new set of significant previously secret UFO documents, now covering the 80s. We already had disclosures covering the 50s, 60s and 70s, all with very important documents and information. So far over 4,000 pages have been disclosed. This material is public thanks to the efforts of the Brazilian Committee of UFO Researchers (CBU), and the Brazilian UFO Magazine, as a direct result of the campaign UFOs: Freedom of Information Now.

The recent disclosure is particularly powerful because it contains dozens of reports of UFOs on May 19, 1986, considered the “Official UFO Night in Brazil”, when 21 spherical objects, estimated 100 meters in diameter – according to military sources – were detected by radars and spotted by civilian pilots, and literally jammed air traffic over the major Brazilian Airports, such as Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Then, several Mirage and F5 jets were scrambled to pursue them.

As a result of that “invasion”, the Air Force minister brigadier Octavio Moreira Lima went public about it on the national TV network, declaring all facts openly. The pilots who took part in the pursue and their commanders also spoke freely about the pursuits, which occurred over several hours.

We’ve had several other disclosures since 2007, all as a direct result of the campaign UFOs: Freedom Of Information Now, promoted since 2004 by the Brazilian Committee of UFO Researchers. The latest disclosure comprises over 2,200 new pages of formerly secret UFO documents that were given to the Committee and also sent to the Brazilian National Archives.

In late July, hundreds of papers from the Brazilian Air Force’s official System for the Investigation of Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (SIOANI) have demonstrated how the nation’s military authorities dealt with the UFO Phenomena in the 60s and 70s.

SIOANI and civilian researchers took part in the investigation and as a result of this combined effort,   Brazil was the first country in the world to officially and publicly admit the reality of the UFO Phenomena, and the first to investigate it openly.

For instance, where have you ever seen color drawings of flying saucers reported by witnesses and investigated by military personnel, such as these one in this post?

These are only a few links to recently discovered colored drawings of UFOs seen in Brazil and investigated in the 60s and 70s by the Brazilian Air Force’s official System for the Investigation of Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (SIOANI). Much more is about to be disclosed.

The Brazilian UFO Magazine website – www.ufo.com.br – already has thousands of pages for download, such as over 1,200 pages of documents, 200 photos of SIOANI’s activities and Operation Saucer, carried out in the Amazonian region in 1977. Along with documents received by the Committee from other military sources.

Included in the recently revealed documents are the detailed research proceedings carried out in dozens of UFO-related incidents which had not been made public previously. Some of the colored sketches of UFO incidents investigated by SIOANI are on the website.

Please note: PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO YOUR MUFON GROUPS AND CONTACTS. Download, print, publicize and otherwise share these documents, but please do not fail to mention the source, Brazilian UFO Magazine, and emphasize that this material is public thanks to the efforts of the Brazilian Committee of UFO Researchers (CBU), as a direct result of the campaign UFOs: Freedom of Information Now.

Something New for 2010 – Innovation!

Equipment for paranormal investigators has come a long way and is now growing by leaps and bounds as interest expands to tens of thousands of everyday folk.  Gone are the days when a handful of writer/researchers dominated the landscape, and the best one could hope for was a new approach using the same limited tools.   No one was creating new gear, at best we learned to modify what was already available to other fields. Today of course, it seems that there are as many qualified engineers working to keep us supplied with the new necessities of the growing market place as there are users.  Some of the things you find on sale are useless, others so innovative that they boggle the mind. Here is a little look at what I think are possibly the most innovative as we enter a new decade. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, 2009 is coming to a close and as in years past, folks expect that I will have some profound words of wisdom, possibly the paranormal investigator’s equivalent to Jean Dixon…sorry it doesn’t work like that! In fact, while preparing to write this blog I considered several year-end topics, but frankly my personality really detests retrospectives, so I will not allude to cheap tricks on Ghostie shows or pompous soothsayers who have to remind us how great they really are. Gabriel, whose name means “hero of God” or “the mighty one,” is the angel of revelation,   wisdom, mercy, redemption and promise, who sits at the left hand of God. His trumpet-blowing image is prominent at Christmastime, for he is considered to be the angel who tells Mary that she will bear a son named Jesus. Gabriel also figures in the angelologies of Judaism and Islam.

Gabriel is mentioned four times in the Bible, and always in connection with important news. In the Old Testament, he is named as Daniel’s frequent visitor, bringing prophetic visions of apocalyptic proportion (Daniel 8:16, 9:21). Angelic attribution of the visions, which were treasonous at the time of the writing of the book of Daniel, might explain Gabriel’s prominent presence. In the New Testament, Gabriel’s name is given to Zechariah: “I am Gabriel who stands in God’s presence” when he announces the coming birth of John the Baptist (Luke 1:19) and cited in the annunciation to Mary (Luke 1:26) of the coming birth of Jesus. Planetary Change and the Real Catastrophe
Oil, Coal and Crustal Displacement

by    Jonathon Spinney

There is no doubt that the burning of fossil fuels and the resulting carbon monoxide releases in our atmosphere are rapidly changing our planet’s ecosystem. However, there is a much more serious fossil fuel issue that has been almost completely ignored by scientists, environmentalists and politicians. In fact, with few exceptions, almost nothing has been written about the more serious issue of crustal displacement. Read the rest of this entry »

Killing Granny – Life After Death

Bosch AfterLife

Bosch AfterLife

We are all very aware of the contentious debate regarding health care reform. One of the most fear-ridden elements has been called “Killing Granny.” Folks are worried about end of life care and the elephant in the room no one wants to talk about: death.

Fate has dealt with death—and life after death— for more than 61 years. This is a topic that has absorbed our readers too. However, we deal with it in an entirely different way. A way that gives hope and comfort to everyone who has been touched by the death of someone close to them. Read the rest of this entry »

May 19, 1986 was considered the “Official UFO Night in Brazil”.  21 spherical objects, estimated 100 meters in diameter – according to military sources – were detected by radars and spotted by civilian pilots.

The Brazilian Government has just declassified a new set of significant previously secret UFO documents, now covering the 80s. We already had disclosures covering the 50s, 60s and 70s, all with very important documents and information. So far over 4,000 pages have been disclosed. With the launch of NASA’s Kepler Mission earlier this year, the quest for alien life has been supercharged. Kepler, traveling in an Earth-trailing heliocentric orbit, features a powerful space telescope specifically designed to find Earthlike planets orbiting distant stars. When such planets are identified, they become prime candidates in the decades-long Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI).

As SETI enters this exciting new phase, FATEmag.com is highlighting articles and video clips telling the story of this quest and its future prospects.
